Zoning

On November 13, 2023, the City of Lexington adopted zoning regulations and the official zoning map.  The purpose was to ensure zoning designations to align with the City's 2017-2027 Comprehensive Plan.

Zoning regulations determine the size, type and form of development that is permitted within the City of Lexington.

Lexington prides itself on providing a better quality of life for our families and future generations. When our small town comes together, we do great things – we care for one another in times of need, support local businesses and homegrown innovation, and provide a safe community where folks live, work, and play.

For questions regarding zoning, you may contact City Hall at (979) 773-2221.  If you would like to request a change to the Zoning Ordinance, you must submit your request in writing and go before City Council for approval.  Meetings are held the second Monday of each month unless posted otherwise.
