Zoning

The City of Lexington’s latest drafts of the Zoning Code and Map are available for review on the link’s provided below. The purpose is to ensure zoning designations align with the City’s 2017-2027 Comprehensive plan.

Zoning regulations determine the size, type and form of development that is permitted within the City.

These documents are also available for review at City Hall, 604 Wheatley, Lexington, Texas 78947, Monday – Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m..

Lacey Hannes with the Planning and Development Services Department will bring forth to the Zoning and Commissions Board and to the Lexington City Council any request, public comment, or suggestions before presenting a Final Action request at the scheduled November 13, 2023, City Council Meeting.

As part of the planning process, a Notice of Public Hearing was mailed to all Property Owners and Utility Customers. The transparency of communication with Cit izens is very important during this process.
