OCTOBER 5TH 2023 IS NATIONAL TEACHERS DAY!

TEACHERS HAVE RESPONDED TO THE TO EXTREME CHALLENGES AND A LACK OF RESOURCES WITH RESILIENCE, CREATIVITY, AND PASSION. THEY DESERVE TO FEEL THE APPRECIATION OF THE COMMINITY THEY SERVE FOR THE TEACHING PROFESSION AND THE FUTURES IT CREATES.

Thursday October 5th the City of Lexington will Light up green and gold in honor of all of our teachers as well as display #TEACHERSCAN ribbons around the town square.

You can celebrate with teachers by sharing messages and stories about the importance of teachers, and perhaps some personal stories about your favorite teachers through your social media. We encourage you to tag @txteacherscan and use the hashtag #TeachersCan and or #WTD2023.

 

CITY OF LEXINGTION TEACHER’S DAY PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, THE CITY OF LEXINGTON’S future strength depends on providing a high quality education to all students; and

WHEREAS, our LEXINGTON teachers have demonstrated great resilience, adaptability, and creativity during the COVID-19 pandemic; and

WHEREAS, our community recognizes and supports its teachers in educating the children of this community; and

WHEREAS, #TeachersCan is a statewide movement supported by more that 150 partnering businesses and organizations committed to elevating the teaching profession and honoring the critical role teachers play In the success of Texas; and

NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the CITY OF LEXINGTON City Council joins #TeacherCan and its partnering entities across Texas in celebrating World Teacher’s Day!
